Why Middle East EPC Projects Source Structural Steel from China

12 7 月, 2026  ·  1 min read

Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the UAE’s industrial expansion have created demand for fabricated structural steel that local capacity cannot fully meet. Chinese fabricators have become a strategic supply source. Here is why.

Capacity at scale

Large EPC projects need thousands of tons on tight schedules. Chinese heavy fabrication plants operate multiple lines capable of high monthly throughput, which matches the pace of NEOM, Red Sea and industrial-city projects.

International code compliance

Leading fabricators build to AISC, EN 1090 and ASME standards — the codes specified by international EPC contractors — so the material integrates directly into the project without re-certification.

Cost structure

Raw material and fabrication costs remain lower than European or American shops, and there is no anti-dumping duty on fabricated building systems entering the GCC, unlike raw steel entering some other markets.

HENZO supplies structural steel, modules and pressure equipment to EPC contractors across the Gulf, shipped to international code with English technical documentation.
